PINS.KU / ALIEN EP
Autumn 2019
In the collaboration with Pins.ku, I travelled back to the era of 'pastel-space-sci fi'-aesthetics, which was now requested by the recording artist. My eternal interest towards space, extraterrestrials, intergalactic traveling and cyborgs etc. the collaboration could not be more relevant. The theme of the 'Alien' album and the foundations of my work merged completely.
My main idea about the background story, was that humans themselves eventually become immortal intergalactic species aka. 'the aliens'. This of course being accomplished by merging with technology and by abandoning old definitions of biological humanity. The story is presented by 20-30 second animation loops.
The biggest part of the the work was the Pins.ku -digital twin creation. Basically the idea was to make a 3D character of Pins.ku and create alien and robot versions of the artist. I used photogrammetry for the the face and sculpting for the body. Most of the work from modeling to rendering has been made with Blender, but I also used Houdini for rigging and animation of the snakes.
